Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Violator14. Taking those scenes out because he thinks people will think its a rip-off of Inception is stupid, especially if they are good scenes. Prof X has been battling on the psychic plane way before Nolan even thought of the Inception story. They aren't even remotely similar considering Prof X has psychic abilities and the psychic plane has nothing to do with dreaming. The fact Vaughn doesn't know this gives me pause about him understanding the source material.
I wonder if the scene has anything to do with his psychic battles with the Shadow King during his life?
Speaking of Inception, if anyone is curious about the ending (Hobbs) Empire mag has a great article which answers pretty much all of them. Nolan is kind of a bastard the way he did it, but it was designed to have you think about it , which it did.

From a practical standpoint Tevil, the Gargoyles cartoon from Disney has nothing to do with it. Since the very notion of a lawsuit being filed by Giulio De Vita over any similarities between his comic Wishes and the movie The Sorcerer's Apprentice is also not practical, it seems worth mentioning as gargoyles springing to life occur in all three cases. I seriously doubt there's any scene either story that doesn't have one that's comparable in dozens of stories that pre-date them both.
It is next to impossible to have a truely original idea for a story anymore. Even if you come up with something totally on your own with no outside influence, there is still an extremely high probability that someone else has already published something similar.
