Nicolas Cage is now working to bring the SECRET SANCTION series of action books to the big screen, with himself as star.
According to a report by Michael Fleming in today's VARIETY, WINDTALKERS scribes John Rice and Joe Batteer have been tapped to translate the first book in Brian Haig's six book series.
"In SECRET SANCTION and the books that follow, Brian has created an incredible blueprint for what we believe will be a franchise of feature films," Norm Golightly, Cage's producing partner in Saturn Films told VARIETY. "Rice and Batteer are masters of blending characters with story and action."
In explaining the potential of the novel, (written by Haig, the son of former Secretary of State Alexander Haig), Rice said, "The novel is about the complexities and moral grays of war, seen through the eyes of a military prosecutor."
