Perpetualcomic-to-film bridesmaid Nicolas Cage will not be mucking around with the SwampThing movie, according to insiders. A rumor surfaced last week when a UKmovie mag attached the actor to the sexy swamp beast. And why not? Cage hasaggressively gone after roles in numerous comic-based movies in the past.
However, asource at Silver Pictures, current producers of Swamp Thing, told Comics2Filmthat there was no truth to the rumors. Our source assures us that themuck-monster's creator Len Wein is hard at work penning a screenplay forproject.
Plans are forthe new movie to have a tone that is more like the dark horror of the comics andless in the campy vein of the previous movie and TV franchise.
