Nicolas Cage has been cast in the remake of the thriller THE WICKER MAN (1973). Neil LaBute adapted the screenplay and will also direct.
The story centers on a sheriff who investigates the disappearance of a young girl on a remote island off the coast of Maine. His hopes of unraveling the girl's disappearance become increasingly uncertain when he discovers evidence of pagan rituals.
Production is slated to begin in Vancouver on July 15, 2005.
