This film just keeps getting better and better!

More heavyweights continue getting attached to the director list for Heavy Metal. The fellow fans over at FilmSchoolRejects have confirmed that director James Cameron will helm one of the segments with the David Fincher-led animation set to hit theaters next year.
Directors Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy) and Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) have also been confirmed by executive producer Kevin Eastman via Cole Abaius' piece. We here at Mania broke the news that Mark Osborne (Kung Fu Panda) is also on the roster.

Ditto, ditto and ditto. Love it love it. Cameron's name will raise the prestige and intrigue factor three fold all by itself. I was already pumped for this and now even more so. Just don't add any director whose last name starts with a Z.
I'm actually curious as to how many segments they're shooting for. I'd think 5 would be the max with 4 probably being optimum. So maybe this wraps up the director list.
This movie isnt going to happen. Its been a confirmationless rumor mill for the past few years.
Remember when Cameron was directing XMEN for a Christmas 1995 release. But then he wanted to make a more psychological superhero film and became the director for Spider man and then Raimi ripped off his idea and gave us a cry baby who feels opprressed by his power.
If a good Heavy Metal film happens I will be surprised but right now it is running its course through the speculation mill until someone at PIXAR decides to make a PG rated kids film ripping off Heavy Metal like Harry Potter rips off HellBlazer and Young Sherlock Holmes or how Star Trek powered by Apple rips off old Star Trek films and StarWars when JJ chose to blow up Alderan or uh sorry I mean Vulcan.
I mean shit why didnt Nero just go back to 1986 and become a whale hunter?
Fincher is the guy who helped the down fall of the Alien franchise begin and Cameron is the guy who helped make Alien a great film series beginning.
This means there is hope for Tim Burton to direct films for Joel Schumacher Or Scorsese can direct films for McG and Uwe Boll.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! The more I hear about this, the happier it makes me! I have been waiting for a new Heavy Metal movie like this! Screw that Heavy Metal 2000 disaster. Time to go back to the way it was.
