What They Say
Ever since Suwati, the love struck Goddess of Happiness granted his wish, Kenta's been getting more than his fair share of "luck". Everywhere he goes Kenta finds his path strewn with willing women who fall into his arms.
And a chance meeting with an aspiring comic book artist brings even more providential opportunities. But when the powers that be discover what Suwati has done, she's left in a sticky situation. Kenta's score mounts toward the mystical number seven, but will he reach it in time? And who will be lucky number seven? The Review!
Following up on the first OVA series, Kenta and the goddess girls do the only thing they should do go to the beach!Audio:
This release was never dubbed and no new one produced, the only track we have here is a pretty basic stereo mix. The majority of dialogue is through the center channel while the music and some of the louder effects utilize the full soundstage, but this is a pretty typical mix. Dialogue is nice and clear throughout and we had no problems in the form of dropouts or distortions.Video:
Originally released back in 1997, the transfer for this round of episodes is pretty similar to the Lucky 7 release. The main thing thats obvious right from the start is a softness to the show and that doesnt help during some of the scenes throughout the show where some of the characters, particularly those with light sea-green hair, tend to look a bit more fuzzy around the edges. Cross coloration shows up in a few areas as well as some light aliasing, but its mainly the softness that causes the problems. The occasional nick and scratch are barely noticeable, though those attuned to jitter during scene changes may be more distracted by this release.Packaging:
While not as brightly eye-catching as the first volume, this release goes for the sexy appeal of the beach and showcases the two lead goddesses in very good looking artwork wearing their bikinis on the beach. Theres a lot of mixed colors that blend nicely and a lot to look at, resulting in a very nice cover. The back cover provides some photograph pictures of the various women in the show and some amusing background imagery. The shows summary is pretty decent and theres the standard listing of production credits. The technical side is a bit weak since it doesnt list what languages are on the disc, which would cause someone wanting a dub to be rather upset at this release. The insert has another look at the front cover on one side while the back side has the discs chapter listings and some artwork for other shows.Menu:
The imagery here is rather nice, with a view of the setting sun across the beach between palm trees playing to the tune of some of the shows instrumental music. Access times are fast, which is a plus since there isnt anything to do on the disc but to play the show or check out the trailers. Extras:

After enjoying the first CanCan Bunny show and its almost light somewhat raunchy look at something similar to Oh My Goddess, I was definitely looking forward to seeing more. The Summer Fun batch of episodes follows up nicely, though again, the series is less like a real hardcore hentai but more of a softcore show that could easily get away without any of the full on sex sequences. But, Im glad theyre there.
The plot this time around spreads nicely across the three episodes here. Kicking it off, Kenta finds himself being offered a summer job working at a hotel along the beach where hell get three square meals a day and a roof over his head while he does all sorts of things around the place. Hes psyched about it and cant wait to get there.
Our leading ladies, Suwatee and Shuree, run into a bit of bad luck with their heavenly boss and find themselves now human and quite visible to everyone else in the world, as well as losing all their powers. So after a bit of wrangling, they girls convince Kenta to take them with him and theyll get put to work too. After all, how could any manager say no to them?
Kentas dreams of his summer are pretty quickly ruined as he finds out the hotel isnt quite what he was told it would be, rather being something of a run down joint where nobody goes since there is a huge luxurious hotel complex just a short way down to the beach. In fact, the owner of that shiny hotel has been working hard to push Sanada and his President Hotel out of business for some time and figured this would be the summer it would happen. With them hiring Kenta and the two girls though, they manage to turn business around there a bit and help keep things afloat.
Its pretty easy to imagine how things play out, since weve seen it many other shows. Kenta and the girls bring in business, Kenta flirts with anything that moves, Suwatee gets jealous, especially now that she can touch Kenta, and Shuree tries to get things fixed up so Suwatee isnt unhappy. All of this happens in very skimpy outfits and across a bright sunny beach.
The other element thats introduced is a young woman named Mahoko, who is the granddaughter of the big hotel owner. She ends up dealing with Kenta quite a bit as she spends most of her time down on the beach, and she eventually starts falling for him. Theres also the security guard team that patrols the beach for the hotel, and they cause a fair bit of trouble, but also provide some good sex scenes for our young man Kenta. A lot of what the show comes down to is the typical jealous and uncertainty of a romance between Kenta and Suwatee, with Kenta being oblivious and nailing anything that moves.
If the more explicit sex scenes were removed, this would be condensed and played out as a filler episode in just about any regular TV series out there. Thats not to condemn it, since they do it well here and it is enjoyable, but its definitely weaker than the first volume. Add in that the magic level is practically nil since the two goddesses have no powers, and that unique aspect of the shows premise is gone as well.
This was still a fun lighthearted little hentai, the romantic comical kind that I like much more than the scat and crap we see so much of these days. The supporting cast here expands things nicely and there are a lot of nice attractive characters getting lucky here. There may be more plot than some care for, but Im liking it.
