The "Prepare Yourself" countdown clock has finally ended at Capcom's official site and a return of STREET FIGHTER has been announced, something a lot of gaming sites have been anticipating for a while. Other leaks were made earlier by Game Radar defying the "embargoes" we all have in terms of announcements from their Gamers Day event this week. Since then, it has been pulled down from the site but not before some details were passed around.

News thus far from Capcom's Gamer's Day Event.

-Bionic Commando returns after nearly 20 years.

-Street Fighter IV is announced 10 years after Street Fighter III hit the market.

-Lost Planet is coming to the PS3 in early 2008.

-Monster Hunter 3 is now a Wii Exclusive.

Expect more information when the embargoes end for gaming news sites.

If the graphics look anywhere near the style of that trailer, it's going to be awesome (do people still say awesome?) Anyway, can't wait.

I wasn't thrilled with some of the characters from SFIII, especially the Boss characters since they appeared like they were from a different game.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the announcement of a new movie...

Forget Street Fighter, man Bionic Commando is one of my all time favorite games! I always thought it would be a great next-gen game!

It's about damn time Capcom got off its ass and started working on a new SF. I'm hopeful that it will contain all the ass kicking goodness that made the previous SF's such a joy to play. As for Bionic Commando, that game took hundreds of quarters from me back in the 80's; it will be nice to see how Capcom handles this update. It looks like it will use the same kind of arm gimmick that Rygar did on the PS2. Hopefully Capcom will make the arm a bigger part of the gameplay that just a portable grappling hook...because that's been done to death.
