This show is certainly not for the lactose intolerant, giving the unbelievably high amounts of cheesiness. In the conclusion of a 2-part storyline directed by Roxann Dawson (best known as Lt. B’Elanna Torres on Star Trek: Voyager), the Cape (David Lyons) battles the Lich (guest star Glenn Fitzgerald, Flirting with Disaster) who has captured Orwell (Summer Glau).

The Lich (a very stupid name) is a lunatic who lives in an abandoned insane asylum and wants to make Orwell his bride in what is a clichéd plot device found in D-grade horror films. The Lich’s makeup is terrible. He doesn’t look disfigured or scary. If anything, he looks like a guy with makeup smeared on his face. His servant (guest star Ileana Douglas, Goodfellas, Cape Fear) is in love with him, but it’s unrequited. Thus, she develops a deep hatred of Orwell. Again, cliché.

The Cape also enlists Dana Faraday (Jennifer Faraday) to help him find the Lich. Dana believes her husband Vince to be dead but it’s heavily implied she realizes he’s the Cape. However, their first meeting was pretty cheesy.

In what had to be the cheesiest scene, the Cape, Max (Keith David), and Rollo (Martin Klebba) invade The Lich’s stronghold, which is an underground bunker. Rollo beats up a thug, who then runs off and locks them inside. None of them thought to make sure he was knocked out? Stupid.

It was also revealed in a dream sequence that Peter Fleming (James Frain) is Orwell’s father. Orwell was called Jamie twice in the dream sequence. The Cape refers to Orwell as Julia to Max and Rollo when coming to her rescue (after reading her driver’s license). To make it even more confusing, Max asks who she is at the end and she tells him she’s Orwell. Didn’t the Cape refer to Orwell as Julia in front of Max?
So what’s her real name? Is it Jamie or Julia, Oprah or Uma? Either that’s a very glaring continuity error the creators didn’t catch or the Cape read an alias Orwell uses on her driver’s license. That should’ve been clarified if it was the latter. Then again, it’s another reason on a long list of reasons why this show is so bad. We’re glad Dawson has a new life behind the camera, but she can do a lot better.

Every time I saw the door, I was thinking "you open this door with the key of imagination" from The Twilight Zone.  That may be the only thing I remember about this episode.
