Norton wants Louis for AVENGERS
At the recent SXSW, actor Edward Norton expressed some frustration with the creative interference director Louis Letterier got on 'Incredible Hulk'.
"I loved Louis Leterrier," Norton told MTV Splash Page. "I thought he was just the greatest guy. I wish they'd given him more free reign than they did."
Norton also endorsed the 'Clash of the Titans' director for the job helming Marvel's 'Avengers' movie and wants Marvel to give that director the same level of control that Christopher Nolan had over 'The Dark Knight'.
TRANSFORMERS 3 Extras Wanted
Want a bit part in the new 'Transformers 3' movie? Well, there's a Craigslist ad calling for extras in the L.A. area. Check it out. You may get some screen time with Megan Fox.
Gondry to Fans: GREEN HORNET is not a C2F
Director Michel Gondry spent a considerable amount of time talking up the 'Green Hornet' movie at the SXSW festival. And while fans remain skeptical of the vision of the movie created by funnyman Seth Rogen (who plays the lead in the film), Gondry calls bullshit on anyone who talks it up as a comic-based film.
"Let's set the record straight," Gondry told SCI FI Wire. "There is no comic book of the Green Hornet, so I don't want people to tell me, 'You didn't respect the comic book,' because I dare them to show me the comic book. I know that Kevin Smith did one lately. It's probably great, but that's his vision. There's no right to claim Green Hornet is a comic-book figure. It's a radio show to start with, and ... a TV show from the '60s, so that's what there is. If people think we owe to follow the rule of a comic book, there is no comic book of The Green Hornet, so f--k that. I'm sorry, but I don't owe anything to any aficionado of the comic book. I'm doing a film."
C2F can't really refute that. Gondry correctly identifies the roots of the character in radio. Technically there were 'Green Hornet' comics dating back to the 1940s and some fairly popular ones in the late 1980s, so we can take the director up on his dare. But admittedly, like many fans, C2F first met the character via the cool TV series where Bruce Lee starred as Kato.
The sense of trepidation about the movie has more to do with whether or not Rogen is the right man to write a 'Green Hornet' movie, never mind star in one. While C2F is eternally optimistic that it could all work out, there's plenty of fear that this will turn into a mockery. Gondry admits the film is funny, but also says there's more to it.
"And he has a real drama in his story," Gondry said. "So it's going to have some of the criteria that people want to have in such a movie."
We're crossing our fingers that 'Green Hornet' plus Seth Rogen plus Michel Gondry will equal "Magically Delicious" when the film opens on December 22nd.

Paramount Obtains EXISTENCE 2.0 Film Rights
'Smallville' creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough are set to write the script for a film version of Nick Spencer and Ronald Salas' comic 'Existence 2.0'.
The film rights for the Image Comics title were purchased by Paramount Pictures according to the Heat Vision blog at THR. Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes shingle is producing along with David Alpert at Circle of Confusion. Gough and Millar are executive producing along with Circle's Rick Jacobs.
According to the report, the story centers on an amoral, self-absorbed physicist who finds his consciousness transferred into the body of the hitman who just killed him.He begins enjoying the hitman's lifestyle until his daughter is kidnapped by the same people who "killed" him.
Geoff Johns: JSA Will Return to SMALLVILLE
Comics Alliance reports that, while speaking at a panel discussion at Emerald City Comic Con, Geoff Johns commented on the Justice Society of America, who recently appeared in the 'Smallville' movie event "Absolute Justice".
"They do appear again at the end of season on 'Smallville.' The hope is for every DC character to appear outside the comic books. Correctly."
As previously reported, the children of Jack Kirby have officially filed their suit over the copyrights and profits from the various Marvel comics characters that the King had a hand in creating.
THR, esq reports that the paperwork was filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles by attorney Marc Toberoff. That's the same guy working to pry Superman away from DC Comics on behalf of the heir of Jerome Siegel.
The list of characters being targeted by the suit includes many that Kirby clearly had a hand in developing, such as the Hulk, Fantastic Four and the X-Men, as well as a few that are a matter of great debate, most prominently Spider-Man.
THR, esq provides the entire legal filing as a downloadable PDF for any of you litigators out there.
GREEN LANTERN Set Photos Online
Photos from the New Orleans filming of 'Green Lantern' have popped up online.
This week a local pub has been transformed into "Broome's Bar", named after artist John Broome.
A larger series of photos are found on TheGreenLanternCorps Forums. This set includes lots of images of Ryan Reynolds in between takes. He's only wearing ordinary civilian clothes but in the second photo in the series you can see very clearly that he has a large, green colored ring on his right hand!

CAPTAIN AMERICA Casting Phillipe, Tatum and Knightley in the mix?
The brouhaha over the casting of 'The First Avenger: Captain America' continues, only now it's expanded out to the lady parts.
First an update on our leading men:
Deadline.com reports that Marvel has approached Channing Tatum for the role. They say he very likely skipped the audition process since his recent turns in 'G.I.Joe' and 'Dear John' have positioned him as a bankable name. They're saying that, if Marvel advances the conversation with him, it'll be in the form of an offer for the role, not an audition.
At this point, however, they're not saying that an offer is on the table.
Meanwhile, the Motion Captured blog at Hitfix is saying that Ryan Philippe is also a contender. While they only cite anonymous sources, MTV Splash Page was able to confirm the news with Philippe at the SXSW festival yesterday.
"[I] actually am going in to meet on 'Captain America,' which is kind of cool," Phillippe told MTV. "After Superman, he was kind of my favorite."
So you can add Tatum and Philippe to the list of names which also includes Chris Evans, Mike Vogel, Garrett Hedlund and Wilson Bethel.
Deadline.com has the scoop on Marvel's attempts to cast the female lead in the movie as well. According to their report, Marvel is looking for an English lass to play the love interest in the movie. Leading contenders are said to be Keira Knightley, Alice Eve and Emily Blunt. Fans will recall that Marvel had cast Blunt as the Black Widow in 'Iron Man 2', except a scheduling conflict caused her to drop out.
Deadline says the women are vying for the role of Peggy Carter, Cap's World War 2 era flame and aunt to his modern-day love interest Sharon Carter. However, a similar report at the Heat Vision blog says the role in question is that of Betsy Ross, who eventually becomes the costumed hero Golden Girl. Golden Girl is a member of The Invaders, who director Joe Johnston has previously said figure into the story.
What do you thinks, Maniacs? Who is the Captain America favorite now?
On the Set of PRIEST
Entertainment Tonight Canada ran a segment on the manhwa-based 'Priest', starring Paul Bettany. The segment goes behind the scenes and features comments from the leading man, as well as actors Cam Gigandet and Stephen Moyer.
Captain America is dating his 80 year old ex girlfriends niece???????????
GROSSS NASTY, I mean he does not have shriveled nasty balls but he is like 80 and all that time under the ice is going to cause some shrinkage. Is Disney gonna object and have Steve Rogers be her babysitter?
Cue 1970's P Music. Oh Cap , "Oh yeah Cap right there" "Who's Your Uncle, Who's your Funky Uncle"
O "You are Steve You ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRE!"

Channing Tatum is awful and Captain America should not have a scarred penis. Unless Red Skull has some new weapon he stold from Orgazmo's enemies.
I feel that the casting of Capt. America is going down hill. What happened to the people who could act getting the role? If Tatum or Phillippe get it I going to be pissed.
Channing Tatum? I had no idea white people spoke wigga gangsta thugese back then. What a totally useless talentless excuse for a man... And GI Joe was terrrible made even worse by the likes him and that moron Wayans. If he is cast as the Cap, I will never never watch another Marvel movie ever.
I second that sentiment jedi. If Tatum is somehow cast as Cap, I will not see the movie. Absolutely not. I think this movie has potential to be really cool, I had forgotten about the Invaders being a part of it. Just don't f' it up by casting that hack. He is horrible!
I'll reserve judgement until they actually cast it. I still want Hedlund as Cap but who knows...It Tatum is a big name like he thinks he is (I had to look him up no idea who he was) then he isn't going to want that 9 pic deal at 300,000 per movie. He'll want more.
LIARS all of you. You will pay your 12 dollars to Carol Channing Tatum and every other Marvel movie. It is a horrible rumor. Duke was originally blonde just like Steve Rogers.
Ryan Phillipe woill not work just cause Steve Rogers with a fro perm is wrong.
PLEASE NOT TATUM FOR CAP, PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE!!!
