John Cena shoots down 'Captain America' rumors. Plus: 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' writers dish details. 'Scott Pilgrim vs The World' casting and photos. 'XXXombies' potentially a (non-porn) movie. 'Yattaman' owns, son! Appearing there at your shoulder, like a giant with a pair of friendly eyes, it's your Comics2Film 9.3.31!
Comics-creating superstar Rick Remender told MTV Splash Page that he is nearing completion on a draft of a screenplay adapting his zombies and porn comic 'XXXombies'.
"Right now I’m writing a screenplay for ‘XXXombies’ with [series co-creator] Kieron Dwyer," Remender told MTV News. "The transition was smooth, because I took the script that I did and then Kieron and I broke it down into a treatment and did three or four passes to get the story perfect, and now it’s just a matter of breaking the treatment down and copying bits of dialogue from the comic script, rewriting, and new dialogue."
Remender expects to have the script finished as of today.
However, the writer would not divulge any details about who and where a 'XXXombies' movie may be set up, or if its even set up at all. MTV suspects he's not writing on spec.

SCI FI Wire chatted up the screenwriting/producing team of Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, who talked with the site exclusively about the upcoming 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen'.
Here's an excerpt:
Q: Talk about the process of deciding what robots to keep, what robots to add. There are so many of these characters that you have to pick from. How do you winnow them down, how do you add the new ones, integrate them?
Orci: Well, the easier one obviously is the fact that we inherit certain ones from the previous movie and from the fact that Prime and Bumblebee are kind of the two front-and-center relationships. ... In terms of villains, it was againg going back to all the source material. ... We got a bunch of the comics again, we got a bunch of the old cartoons, and just started looking for kind of the most elemental bad guy that kind of jumped off the material, and we found one in The Fallen.
Q: And you've got to bring Megatron back.
Orci: Exactly. But part of it, too, was because of the oddity of the strike, what happened before the strike is that Alex and I and Aaron wrote up kind of a 20-page treatment of what the kind of the basically the moves of the movie. And so many of the robots were selected there. But then many of them were also selected during the strike while we couldn't do anything, as a matter of necessity, by Hasbro and by [director] Michael Bay for some of the action sequences. They literally had to start designing somebody. And they were prohibited by the law from calling us and saying, "Who should that other somebody be?" So it was a mixture of the characters that we had in our treatment and some of the characters that were designed specifically for the movie for production.
The pair also talk about the storyline for the new movie, making the action bigger and better, the new Volt character and more. Click through for the complete Q & A...
A profile on actress Dakota Fanning in the Calgary Herald contains the surprising info that she's set to appear in the 'Scott Pilgrim vs The World' movie. The paper reports that she's headed for Edgar Wright's Toronto set in April.
"Michael Cera is the main character. He’s Scott Pilgrim and he’s trying to date the girl of his dreams, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, but in order to do so, he has to fight her five evil ex-boyfriends. I’m one of the evil ex-boyfriends!"
Yep. She said boyfriend.
In other 'Scott Pilgrim' news the Canadian Tabloid Blog has posted photos of Michael Cera, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans and Alison Pill on set of the movie.

For the 4th straight week, Takashi Miike's anime adaptation 'Yattaman' is the #1 movie in Japan, according to the latest figures from Box Office Mojo. The film took in another $2.1 million USD, bringing the box office run to $22 million USD.
Not faring so well is 'Watchmen' which debuted at #8 this week. That movie took in about $1.1 million.
Also disappointing fans in the land of the rising sun is the American-made 'Dragonball: Evolution' which falls from the top ten in its third week of release. That one gathered $.5 million to land in the #11 spot. It's total run in Japan now stands at $7.5 million.

John Cena is the latest WWE superstar to take a pass at the big screen. His new action film '12 Rounds' opened in theaters last week. It's not surprising that fans have glommed on to the burly, affable grappler as a candidate for 'Captain America'.
However, Cena told MTV Splash Page that any talk of him being up for, or taking meetings for the part of the Star Spangled Avenger is purely iternet vapor.
"To kill the rumor, I was never contacted by anyone," Cena told MTV. "Usually when those rumors start it’s because someone in that community thinks that I would be okay for a role. I’m flattered that they think I could play Captain America and I would be up for it."
However, Cena does say he'd love to have a shot at the part. Here's the video of his complete comments...
What do you think, Maniacs? Would Cena be a good fit for Cap? If not, then which superhero should he play?

Wait, scratch Leo. After working with Nolan in Inception he will join the Bat franchise as...wait...for...it......wait a little longer cause it's gonna be legendary..................The Joker!
Did anyone catch How I Met Your Mother last night? Tears of laughter streaming down my face when they busted out the Teen Wolf in the kid's bball game. Man that movie was awesome, this worlds needs another Teen Wolf.
How awesome is Teen Wolf? I'll wait for the answer to that since it's near impossible to describe it's awesomeness.
Theres the ultimate enigma Darknight.... Does Cena act on WWE and would that be considered good acting? I think the movies he has done are a reflection of bad direction and films more than his own personal bad acting. Wrestlers act all day and night. Piper acts a fool and I would neverhave thought he could pull off a movie but he did well in They Live.
I had not heard the Cena/Cap rumor at all but I had come to that conclusion all on my lonesome. I saw him appearing on various talk shows promoting 12 Rounds and as much as I poo-poo wrestlers for big roles (Dwayne Johnson is the exception. He's great. He should be Doc Savage.), his manner and demeanor so impressed me I thought if I was director for the Captain America movie I would definitely give him a screen test.
Physically, he of course has the body, but he came across with alot of the quality I envision in Cap: a commanding prescence you would immediately rally around. The kind of person who could tell you we have to march into the thick of this battle and probably die but it could save the day for the good and just and you would gladly follow him.
Teen Wolf was indeed awesome. However I've always felt The Wolf would've been nothing but a sideshow freak if it weren't for "the guy behind the guy", the ever omnipresent king of cool, "Styles" who acted as The Wolf's agent/wrangler. Everybody needs a friend like "Styles".
AUVISCHIZO ur prolly right.. I would say its mostly bad direction in CENA's case. I think he does have the chops to be a good actor (like Dwayne Johnson, love he stuff, not oscar worthy ..but entertaining) I would say just as Monkeyfoot said: Give the guy a screen test and see what happens. Hes physically ready for the role, as a wrestler he is part stunt man, he knows fight coreographey (i cant spell that word..lol) so lets see what happens. To be honest this is the BEST Cap movie rumor so far.
Yeah how i met your mother was FUNNY AS HELL last night. Loved the Murtogh List!!@ I need to make one of those. There are many things i still try to do and i'm clearly "Too old for this shit"..lol
I had just commented on wanting to see 12 Rounds to see if Cena's acting had progressed because I thought he'd be perfect as Captain America. His acting doesn't need to be Oscar caliber, just good enough is ok with me. I definitely don't want Leo as Cap nor Matt Damon plus they command too much money and we know Marvel has to watch their pennies.
Cena deffinatley has the look for CAP. But not sure he has the acting chops. I saw the MArine (Horrible, but he looks like he may have gotten a bit better in thei new movie 12 rounds. Soi guess i would have no issues with his name being in the hat..pending his acting skill shave increased 5-10 fold from The Marine.
