In comparison to all the various TV spots unleashed for X-Men: First Class and Green Lantern, Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios have been waiting patiently in the background before taking the next step in marketing Captain America: The First Avenger. That time has arrived with the two studios rolling out their second and third TV spots for the summer tent pole. Watch them down below and sound off with your opinions.
The film stars Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, Sebastian Stan, Toby Jones, Samuel L. Jackson, Dominic Cooper, Tommy Lee Jones, Stanley Tucci, Derek Luke and Neal McDonough. Helmer Joe Johnston led in the director's chair, based on a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
Plot Concept: The story will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America.
Captain America: The First Avenger hits 3D/2D theaters July 22, 2011.
About time we started seeing some more spots for this one. They do seem to be showing most of the same stuff over and over, but a couple of new shots and lines are in there. Still really pummped for this, but I wonder if it is getting lost in the shuffel with all the spots from all the other movies this summer saturating the airwaves.
I think they had to wait before getting the ad campaign rolling, you don't want to step on Thor's toes. Now that Thor is fading the timing is right to start making people aware of the awesomeness headed their way.
This is the film that I have the most anticipation and highest hope for the rest of the summer. I think it looks great, fingers crossed and bated breath
For a lot of naysayers thinking this movie will only draw interest in the US, that's a flat no.
As a Canadian I was never a big fan of Cap (stuck more with Wolverine) but just looking at these TV spots and trailers, I'm so sold on this one! This is how you do a comicbook adaption closer to the source (get the hint Singer!)
Opening weekend for sure and my kids are all pumped for it too after seeing Thor (and they are 2 girls under 10!)
Ha ha ha! I converted them into little Marvelites. The funny thing is, I have to thank Superhero Squad for starting them up into the Marvel U. They loved the cartoon and characters and have now "graduated" to the much more "mature" version of these characters.
I think Cap will blow Green Lantern out of the water. GL is like an intergalactie policeman. Rogers is the ultimate soldier. My son and I will probly see both. But I think he may go more with Cap. lol
I was never really into captain america, buuut after seeing some trailers pics and stuff I'll think I will defo have to give it a go! Looks very good and really liking the old style costume, it fits in with the time its set in me thinks!
