Why do they have a black guy playing the falcoln?

toran 3/14/2014 2:03:49 PM

Um, freestrike. You are kidding aren't you? Falcon is black in the comics. Always has.

freestrike 3/14/2014 6:21:04 PM

Um toran, so you're saying the actor should be the same race as the character in the comics? Well you better alert the makers of the new fantastic four, and the old fantastic four, and the last superman movie, and the new spiderman movie, and the new flash show, and smallville. All those shows have black actors playing white characters from the comics.

Yes of course I was kidding but I can just imagine how people would freak out if they not had a black guy playing the falcoln.

Freestrike:  Win! LOL

I'm a multi-racial guy but I consider myself more than a hyphen (Mexican-American, African-American, etc...) I'm just American.

I think the country pendulum change to make sure no one has "hurt feelings" is actually hurting our society to some extent.

I'm ok with a black Nick Fury, I'm actually diggin him over the 'classic' version. But having to go through and "color wash" everything now is taking away from ther fan boy experience, and now that we are in our 40's and have disposable incomes to spedn on our child hood hobbies, the producers of these movies need to be careful.

freestrike 3/30/2014 1:04:28 PM

Well said Blue... I also happen to be half mexican but when asked my nationality I only say American.  I can also tell you I was not happy when they cast a hispanic dude to play superman a few years back in the jla movie that thankfully didn't make it into production.  I also have no problem with a black Fury since that Fury was actually based on a black comic book Fury.
