yeah, WTF with the mechanic thing freaking poping up and taking over each freaking page! cap seems ok, though the guys in the background dont really speak to me as guys from the 30s-50s,.. but what do i know

jimvo99 1/14/2011 3:08:03 PM

Cap helmet should look heavier. Also, I am as of now boycotting The Mechainc just because of the pop up ad.

noahbody 1/14/2011 4:17:05 PM

The pop up is some serious bullshit!

InnerSanctum 1/14/2011 4:32:42 PM

Hey, I find the Mechanic pop up a bummer too, but I know these guys have gotta eat.

Yes, the photo showing Captain America looks good so far.  Strongly agree with both Wise and Innersanctum regarding Wonder Woman.  What is David E. Kelly doing wasting his time trying to bring that great character to the small screen when she should be up on the big screen along with the other DC emerging heroes!  What's he doing with that project to begin with? (he's done Ally Mcbeal and the Practice) I too have been waiting for the complacent fools at the Hollywood undecided machine to get themselves in gear and finally get Doc Savage going...I've been waiting as well since the days that Arnold was supposed to do this.  Well, Wise, this is a shock...I think we've agreed on 3 different issues on 1 thread..that must be a record!

I have never commented on this site or on Comics2Film in the 7 years I have been reading it.  You know why I took time out of my evening, registered, and have come here to post a comment.  Because while I was on my laptop today I couldn't read the news of the day because of the EFFING MECHANIC AD THAT KEPT POPPPING UP!!!! The "X" was not visible on the screen so I couldn't click out of it.  As I saw above, that wasn't an uncommon problem.  I'll tell you one thing, that was the effing stupidest marketing idea on the planet.  If I had even thought about seeing that movie I'll guarentee you I woudln't now for sure.  Way to piss off loyal readers, Mania!!!!

Loco... to take a couple of pages from one of Lost's John Locke/Jack Shepherd dialogs, "DC has a movieverse. They just don't know it yet." Because "it's destiny." Honestly, I'm convinced that we'll see a DC movieverse due to the sheer inevitability of such a prospect. You do, however, bring up a good point when you write the "near future," though. There's some subjectivity as to what people deem to be "near" or "far" away... so I'm inclined to agree with you to the extent that I don't see this happening in th enext couple of years.

Wise... yeah, Nolan's really throwing a monkey wrench in all of this. Of course, the Green Lantern's tone looks a bit silly, and I almost wonder if it would be best to wait until Nolan and Bale are done with Batman before bringing that character into a DC movieverse. Still; if DC isn't careful they could *really* look like Johnny come lately's. Word on the street is that Hasbro views all of their properties as taking place within the same universe and, if true, that would offer some interesting opportunities down the road.

Cap looks great in that pic.  Can't wait for the movie or a trailer to come out.

No issue for me with the Mechanic popup.  I'm using Firefox with No Script add on.

krathwardroid 1/14/2011 8:32:45 PM

Captain America looks fantastic! Keep it going Chris Evans. Can't wait to see this one.

Wiseguy: Reviews don't always hinder a movie's box office intake. Many of them - Spider-Man 3, Wild Wild West, and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen to name a few - actually perform quite well at the box office despite being critically panned.

Wiseguy 1/15/2011 6:12:11 AM

You're right Krath, I only said I wonder if that would hurt the film. But you're right, the thing is that to me there appears to be a big split here so the reviews may or may not sway those that are on the fence. We'll see, I know when I really want to see a movie reviews be damn  I'm seeing it.
