I remember Captain Power debuted the same time as ST:TNG and at the time I thought The children's show made to sell toys had more mature storylines than Trek.
Or rather to be more specific, the Power's characters were going through various moral, relationship, and action-oriented dilemmas with some pain and suffering and were reacting the way modern people do. TNG characters had and always reacted from the more mature 23rd century way Roddenberry thought they should which made them seem especially aloft. I've gotten used to it now but at the time I was enjoying those low budget Rangers more.
There are some episodes on youtube still.

Hope if they do it it still works with the old toys. We still have captain power competitions and its still fun. Now if only they can add 3D
