While talking to CINESCAPE's own Melissa J. Perenson for the May issue of the magazine, X-FILES creator/producer Chris Carter touched upon his thoughts now that he's decided to end the show after nine years, and the work it will take to close shop.
When asked if he'd feel relief on finishing up, Carter said, "You're asking me as I'm sitting here writing on the Presidents' Day holiday no one's at the studio but me. I don't feel relief at all. I feel burdened with the opportunity I see to do some really good work as we end the year."
He did admit it will be weird living in a world with no new FILES.
"It will be strange not to take a couple of weeks off and come back and start working on THE X-FILES again. Is that a relief? I don't know that [yet]."
