Batman Vs. Superman Title Confirmed?

Two titles?

By Robert T. Trate     September 17, 2013
Source: ComicBook.com

We have some news on Zach Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman. It just may be the title, but we are not sure if it is 100% true. It should be considering one of the film’s writers is stating it. David S. Goyer was speaking at a 75th Anniversary Superman panel and stated the following:

“So the next film we’re making, we’re already in pre-production, comes out in summer of 2015 and it’s–we’re actually not sure whether the title is Superman vs. Batman or Batman vs. Superman but yes, it’s–that rematch, that combination, the two guys onscreen and that’s happening.”

So that removes “The World’s Finest” from the possibilities as well as “Public Enemies”. Whataculture.com is also reporting that Warner Brothers has registered the domain names SupermanVsBatman.com, BatmanVsSuperman.com, and BatmanVsSupermanMovie.com. A common practice by the studios and one that only makes sense. Personally, I can’t believe someone had done it already.

So we have two possibilities for the first on screen meeting of Batman and Superman. I think the best marketing scheme would be to use both titles and feature first character predominantly on the ad campaign.

It will probably be Batman vs Superman giving Afleck top billing.

I don't like any of them...I would have prefered something like Superman the world finest...I know why they are doing it the way they are, you put Superman and Batman in the same title and it will draw upon both super hero's fans and bring in even bigger ticket sales but this is supposed to be a Superman movie first and foremost so let it be just that...

I agree with redvector. My money's on Batman vs. Superman. It's not only in order of star power, it's alphabetical as well.

Surprisingly, I still have not seen Man of Steel. I haven't seen the Bale Batman movies either. Between the two, I'd rather see Man of Steel, especially if it's leading into a shared universe. By the time BvS comes out, the Affleck "controversy" will have mostly faded and it'll open at #1.

I like the working title. I hope that a majority of the movie is played out that way. The likely ending will be the two of them defeating a common bad guy. Lex? There is evidence in the first movie to support that. I hope that he is more behind the sceens, he might be running the bad guy running things...

Personally I think they should call it "Namrepus Vs Namtab".

But hey... that's just me!

I'd have to know a little bit more about the plot before believing in a title that is suitable. Depending on how much they are actually 'against' eachother would defer between "Worlds Finest", "Public Enemies" or the VS version.

Unless that is the name of Lex Luthor's plan.. Batman vs. Superman

World's Finest will always be a better title. Less juvenile.

I am going to assume this is a "working title" and very general.  If they put this little thought into the final title, as they appear to be doing with casting, that bodes ill for the movie as a whole.  Agreed, World's Finest needs to be somewhere in there!

I was under the impression that it was a MoS sequal. Batmans name does not need to be in the title at all.
