Robin is a ridiculously corny character... especially when shown as a kid.  Did you guys walk striaght out of 1960 or what?  How do you know how to use a computer?

I don't much care for the kid version myself but the 1960s isn't when he was last shown as a kid. Yes, he is corny but he is a part of the Batman mythology. He was just shown as a kid as recently as 2009 when the son of Bruce and Talia, Damian Wayne, became the new Robin. The Damian Wayne Robin could be used as he's a bit more serious having been trained to kill at a very young age by the League of Shadows. They could very well do a serious take on him using that story.

Robin is actually a pretty cool character if handled properly.  (And I have a computer engineering degree...)

The Mania staff is just as geeky as the rest of us, and that's why I love 'em.  I mean only an idiot would talk about casting the next Batman movie while the last one hasn't even been in the theatres for a week, right?  :)

I'm just not much of an Eva Green fan.  She is an OK actress and all, I just don't see the mass appeal that everyone else does.  And if you have to tell me to suggest someone else, I say Jill Wagner because, well... I just like her!

"Hingle was Commissioner Gordon!  Michael Gough was Alfred, and yes he was the definitive Alfred!" Yeah, my bad, I had a feeling I was getting it wrong but I couldn't remember his name so I took a chance.

I don't know about the rest of you, but my mind is always in casting mode. Having grown up reading Wizard magazine and looking forward to their casting calls, I just can't help but start thinking about casting choices. It does seem dumb to start casting a film even though the new one just barely came out but that's been happening for a long time now. It's just how we are. We all knew this would be the last of Bale and Nolan so our minds go into overdrive immediately thinking of actors to fill the roles.

How can you be tired of Zod? He's been in one movie. Sorry, Smallville doesn't count.

boxker 7/25/2012 10:46:43 AM

Huh! What do you mean you're tired of General Zod.  He was in 1 movie over 30 ago! In fact, if you put together all of Superman's stories together in all forms cartoons, comics, and television he is probably in less then five percent of them. As for Lex Luthor, he is his arch enemy! That's kinda of like saying "hey we gotta  get someone new for Luke Skywalker to fight. Vader was in the last movie."  Everybody wants to see new villans all the time. But with me, I hate how , in the movies, the likes of Joker or Dr. Octopus get killed in the end. Not being able to completely rid the world of the threat is part of the dynamic with those villians.

boxker 7/25/2012 10:47:55 AM

Anyway, with menaces like Lex luthor, you can still have new threats or challenges that Superman has to face. You can have Zod, Darksied, Metallo or someone else with Lex Luthor being the puppet master behind the scenes. He would be someone like Emperor Palpatine manipulating everything.  You could probably do the same with the Joker as well. (although I wouldn't mind a proper presentation of Mr. Freeze- Batman's best villan.)

I just hope they are committed to creating a good movie.

I agree - why are you trying to cast the next Batman movie when nearly all the characters you listed were in Nolan's trilogy? WB has a way to go before they announce whether the next Batman movie will continue from where TDKR left off, and if they choose to make another direct sequel then most of your cast choices will be for nothing.

rhaegar 7/25/2012 11:38:52 AM

NO REBOOT,please……  We all know the origin….   NO JOKER, CATWOMAN, TWO FACE, BANE, etc. Been there done that. Batman has enough villians.
