It seems that George A. Romero's next Untitled Dead Film is moving past the point of rumors (today's Mania column) onward to the point of casting and plot confirmations. The cast is seemingly locked in for his next zombie film, taking place shortly after Diary of the Dead and involving two returning characters from the 2008 film.
The newly confirmed cast includes Diary's Alan Van Sprang and Land of the Dead's Devon Bostick and also features newcomers Richard Fitzpatrick, Stefano Colacitti and Athena Karkanis.
Romero wrote the new film and began shooting this week in Ontario.
Plot Concept: Story involves inhabitants of an isolated island off the North American coast who find their relatives rising from the dead to eat their kin. The leaders of the island feud over whether or not to kill their reanimated relatives or preserve them in hopes of finding a cure.
