A casting call was made in Toronto for some shoots in THE INCREDIBLE HULK. The Belleville Intelligencer gave some of the details behind the casting call. Apparently, the creators need  "soldiers" for a scene in the movie.

Local filming for the movie is scheduled to take place July 26 and 27 at CFB Trenton.

Kleiman Casting Ltd. of Toronto processed more than 200 movie-hopefuls over a three-hour period inside the hockey arena. Each person filled out a brief questionnaire listing some of their physical attributes, any experience they had with the military, weapons or firearms training, marital arts, sports, and whether they had a special driver’s licence and even a pilot’s licence.

Every applicant had his or her photo taken by the Toronto casting firm. Successful applicants will be notified over the next couple of weeks. The company was looking for fit/athletic males and females, 18 years of age and older, who were interested in playing soldiers in the movie being produced by Marvel Enterprises, creators of The Incredible Hulk comic books.

Zameret Kleiman, of Kleiman Casting Ltd., said she is looking for between 35 and 50 people from the casting call.

“They will be strictly soldiers in the movie,“ she said.

“I was told to find some military types, male and female. I’m very impressed with the look of the people who came here. We have a lot of great choices.“

Kleiman said she will study all the applicants’ photographs and narrow them down to a manageable number.

“I’ll show the photos to the director of the movie and he’ll make the final cuts,“ she said.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK hits theaters everywhere on June 22, 2008. It stars Edward Norton (Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk), Tim Roth (Emil Blonsky/Abomination), Liv Tyler (Betty Ross) and William Hurt (General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross).

The ad placed for this casting call SHOULD read;
"Wanted, fit athletic males and females between 18 and 35, interested in playing soldiers for Hulk to SMASH. Must be skilled and running screaming, hiding, ducking for cover and flying through the air."

"weapons or firearms training, marital arts, sports,..."
I am skilled in the marital arts. 10 years now. Am I ready to throw down with Hulk?

Can anyone put down that they have experience in fighting gamma ray enhanced mutations?

I'm excited about all the casting changes except for Betty. Not a big fan of Liv. I find her a bit vapid. Anyway, I'm hoping we get to hear the Hulk speak in this film. It would be nice to hear a "puny humans" or "Hulk smash". The mute Hulk has been done...give the character a little more personality...and screen time.

Any word if the Abomination is still going to be the villian? It would be nice to see the Hulk fight something besides the military and poodles.

Cappy, your question is answered in the very last line of the story (Tim Roth (Emil Blonsky/Abomination)). So yes, Hulk gets to smash something pretty big, but no poodles.

Heh, teach me not to read the cast credits.

I guess I feel excited about the next Hulk movie but, also I am I not excited at all about Liv tyler being the new Betty Ross.

She's had her moment in LOTR but even then, going from Jennifer Connely to Liv tyler, not the same at all.

As for a talking Hulk, I guess it would be nice to see the true Hulk (dumb but stronger then anyone in the universe, more then Thor, more then Superman, more then the Sentry). that's what I love about the Hulk, having someone so strong and so powerful yet so lost like a 4 year old child, that's emotions and pains and tragedy right there.

Can't wait.

LOL....Good one, Madmanic.

As for this movie, I’m happy that the suits in Hollywood learned from Batman that a failed movie franchise CAN be saved with the right people on it.

One can only wonder how can someone read in a script “and then The Hulk has a ferocious battle with 3 giant radioactive dogs…one of which is a poodle” and give it a green light…

Karkaju, good point. I've often wondered the same myself, especially when you consider the comic is filled with material suitable for the big screen. Yeah, I've said that before.......Despite the past I have high hopes for this movie, The Dark Night, and Iron man. I'll probably get some flack for this but IMHO the superhero movie bar has been lowered a bit this summer. I'm hoping things will turn around next year.
