It's been an absolute blast working and learning from you these past couple of years, Rob. Looking forward to more Scratch9 greatness!

Rob... sorry to see you go.  I've been here since 97' myself and I've enjoyed your articles and opinions. Glad to hear you won't be stranger and I'll have to check out some of your other sites.  Hey maybe I'll be able to take over your spot here LOL... have a good one Rob and thanx for creating one of my favorite places on the net.

I seem to be first.  Good. Let me say now before the complaints pour in.  Yeah, Superman is being played by a Brit. So what.  He isn't American. He's an alien from another planet!  Besides,  Batman and now Spider-man are played by Brits too and yet no one has complained or still is complaining.

Anyway, I applaud them going with an unknown for the role. He reminds me a lot of Superman from the comics just after he came back from the dead which is not good or bad. Just interesting.  I think it is a lus though that he's been on the short list before.

I'm anxious to see how this column changes.  News reports of major import happen on the weekends.  Whomever  takes this up should work weekends but I somehow don't see that happening.

jfdavis, some of us do work weekends here. The anime section has quite a lot going on with shows over the weekend, so we do get some weekend coverage around here. :)

CAP , SMALLVILLE, DKR: cant wait for the trailer, glad Zod and KaRA Will be back on before the end, and doesnt care if she is Catwoman , however i would love to see the custome ideas for her.

Green lantern : That Pic looks great , that is what I ve been waiting for, makes me feel a little better .

xmen,: im just done commenting on this pile of poop

Superman: Cavill as Supes, yeah Ok, wouldnt have been my choice, but my concern is with Zack's comments that this will be a departure from the comics and will not be based on any of the Superman Comics

Rob, thanks for all the time, energy and great work you've done over the years. You'll definitely be missed here.

I didn't know there was going to be a Captain America trailer during the Super Bowl. I was excited for the game, but now I'm more jazzed about seeing the spot. This movie can't suck! I've waited to see this since I was about 8...and that was many moons ago!

Still not crazy about the Spiderman costume re-design, but I'm sure it will look better whien it's lit properly. Why redesign a classic costume that's known the world over? Makes no sense to me.

I can't wait to see what Brannagh's done with Thor. This is going to be a great year for movies.

"F" Green Hornet. I don't care how much it makes, Seth Rogen ruined the movie.

No matter how much I see of the Green Lantern costume I juct can't get past the fact of how awful I think it looks. I really want this movie to be good, but I'm unimpressed with what I've seen so far. Again, why reinvent the costume? One of these days moviemakers are going to realize if something ain't broke...don't fix it. Get over your own ego!

Oliver Platt's a great actor, but his head looks like it's going to explode off of his shoulders. Give the guy a shirt with the right collar size!

Cavill looks good. Please get rid of those gay speedo shorts and the small shield Singer gave us in SR. And please tell me there's no damn super kid in this one, or if there is, kill the character at the beginning of the movie so we can forget he was ever created.

Cavill as Superman?  I wasn't convinced by the rumors a few years ago, and I can't say I'm much further along now.  He was good in The Tudors, I'm just not sure he's got the physique and the chops to pull off the part - to be both mild mannered and the Man of Tomorrow.

THOR left you teary eyed? Puhleeeze!  I don't want no emotional jibba jabba!  I want action, violence - an extra planar dust up!

Spidey looks a little better - but not much.

Looking forward to the Superbowl only for the commercials and movie spots.  The Steelers and the Packers can suck it.

Hopefully whomever is taking up the mantle will have to understand that they have large shoes to fill...best of luck with all of your future endeavors.

Wiseguy 1/31/2011 8:20:28 AM

So long Rob, best of luck whatever you do. Maybe you can do something about al these Brits taking over our superhero roles :)
