uuh.... I think we all KNOW where he gets his strength from guys. But he would still look like Superman, and alot better if he was big and ripped. Every cartoon, and comic i've seen has Superman alot or slightly bigger than all the other guys, so ya.... he needs to be pretty buff. I'm sick of seeing skinny supermans. Skinny superman=lame.

In their roles, Christopher Reeve wasn't muscular, and Michael Keaton damn sure wasn't, and they're two of the finest superhero actors of all time.

I'm interested to see what his take on the dual identity will be like.  I always thought that had to be the hardest part for any actor portraying the character, especially after Christopher Reeve pretty much set a standard on how Clark Kent and Superman differ in behavior.  He made it believable that these could possibly be two separate people and I can't imagine the pressure of wanting to make the role your own without drawing up comparisons to Reeve (even though that will happen anyways).

Routh was good, but he was basically just continuing Reeve's performance, I never really thought Dean Cain got the duality down in Lois & Clark and at the rate Smallville is going, we're probably never going to see Welling's full interpretation of it, just Superman (and even THAT will probably be brief).  Hopefully Cavill can pull it off.

And yeah, Superman hasn't thrown a proper punch on the big screen in about 25 years (I think he just moved a bunch of heavy stuff around in Returns).  Give us the supervillain smackdown we've been waiting for, Snyder!

A while back there was a "preview" for someone's version of a Superman/Batman movie and it had the blonde guy from the new American Gladiators show who obviously dyed his hair black.  He was a very muscular guy and it looked kind of cool when he was Superman but then it had a couple of shots of him with the glasses on as Clark Kent.  Sorry, you can't wear baggy enough business suits to hide the muscle so the secret identity would be shot.

As for Cavill, I've been hoping he would get a shot.  He's a very good actor who seemed to beef up a bit for his role in the Tudors series so it wouldn't be a problem to pack on the pounds.  Also, he sported what I thought was the iconic Superman hair for awhile during that series.  Not the hardened hair gel look of Routh in Returns but the wavey, curly look of the comics.

Okay, my detailed review of dudes is over.   Thanks for your time!
