After serving us a dish of chills with FINAL DESTINATION 2 and then moving on to make New Line Cinema's upcoming thriller CELLULAR, director David Ellis is in negotiations to helm SHAKERS for Whitelight Entertainment. The movie is set in the world of drag racing and is about a small town police officer that gets involved with the world of drag racing while trying to find the criminals that robbed a chain of banks. The movie's screenplay is by Perry Barndt and Jason Rodriguez.
Ellis made his name by becoming one of the industry's top second unit and action sequence directors. He was involved with designing and shooting the freeway car chase sequence from THE MATRIX RELOADED and also the rocket launcher attack sequence from CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER.
