PulitzerPrize-winning author Michael Chabon has been tapped for a rewrite on Spider-Man2, now referred to as The Amazing Spider-Man, according totoday's Variety. Chabon is well-known asthe author of the comic-themed, Pulitzer-Prize winning novel The Amazing Adventuresof Kavalier & Clay.
Chabon is saidto be banking mid-six against mid-seven figures for the work. Previous authors on thescreenplay include Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville) andthe first film's scribe David Koepp.
TheAmazing Spider-Man is slated for production early next year for a May 7,2004 release.
