Also, the set features a special tribute to Piller, including never-before-seen interviews with cast, crew, family members and industry colleagues who all discuss his lasting influence not only on the series, but also on the Star Trek franchise as a whole. Rounding out the exclusive bonus material includes an all-new gag reel and newly produced commentary on select episodes.

I have both seasons 1 and 2 on Blu and couldn't recommend them more. The restoration is simply amazing and the slightly altered/updated CGI adds a lot to this iconic series. The special features are fantastic on these sets as well.
However, I can't help but look at this announcement as nothing more than an extra cash grab. Why not just add BOBWP2 to the Third Season set as well as it's special features. You can add in the additional cost to the third season set, but to release 2 separate sets seems ridiculous and unnessary.
All that said, I'll probably purchase both because I want all the special features. And again, I'll likely be going to the theater for the special screening a week before these are released.
Now we have hit season 3 I think this may be the time to jump on the bandwagon and get some. S1 and s2 aren't high on my list (still had a few reaaly good episodes) but from s3 onward there are just shed loads of them.
I'm betting Paramount will go through every Trek offering (minus the animated show) and stick it on Blu. Aren't they supposed to have all of TNG out on Blu this year alone?
Bought the first two seasons. Will be picking this one up along with Season 1 of Enterprise which is slated for a March release as well. It was cool to revisit TNG after meeting the whole cast last year the local con.

One more thing I need, yet can't afford. Damn it all.
Out of all of Trek history (excluding the shoddy "Enterprise") I've only got Season 2 of TOS on Blu, and Season 3 of Voyager on DVD.
At least the Blu version of TOS has a Tribbles disc, with the DS9 episode "Trials and Tribbleations."
