Character cut from CHRONICLES

THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK director David Twohy told Sci Fi Wire that fifty minutes of footage was edited from the rough cut of his new film including a character that's in the ESCAPE FROM BUTCHER BAY video game. That character, Shirah, provided some background for Riddick as he searched for clues about the powers of his race, the Furyans. Twohy said that when the time comes for the RIDDICK DVD fans can expect to see the scene. "I'd be interested in putting [it] back in the film," Twohy told the website.

Twohy also added that if he has his way the Director's Cut of RIDDICK would be longer by about fifteen minutes. "But I must say that the version we have out now has a lot of drive," he adds. "It has a lot of energy, and it feels like a good pace for a summer film."
