It's been a rather slow news morning-afternoon. Senator Leahy is appearing in DARK KNIGHT? Good tax dollars I guess.. A new poster for SAW IV? Movie posters, nope. Still, this bit of casting news can give us fans something to talk about in terms of the Punisher franchise. It's a day where you will see pics of Titus Pullo(Ray Stevenson) and Lucius Vorenus(Kevin McKidd)  side by side once again...Perhaps some news will come in this afternoon. Until then, here you go.

Ray Stevenson's unofficial site has published the list of casting/characters they're currently looking to fill for in the sequel, PUNISHER: WELCOME BACK FRANK, for director Lexi Alexander. Here's the list of characters to expect in the sequel for Lionsgate...

Billy Russo/Jigsaw

 LBJ/Looney Bin Jim (Jigsaw's brother)

Nicky Donatelli (undercover FBI agent serving as Jigsaw's right hand man)

His wife Angela Donatelli

FBI agent Luke MacDonald

Det. Martin Soap

 Microchip (The Punisher's armorer).

Nice! Microchip!

It's interesting that this seems to be getting back to the old Punisher from my childhood, with Jigsaw, Microchip and (maybe) NYC. Yet the rumored subtitle is Welcome Back, Frank, the title of Garth Ennis' now-classic reboot of the franchise (upon which you could argue the prior movie was very heavily based.)

Give me the take no prisoners Frank Castle that I love... and I am there opening night.

Nothing against Jane, but I felt he was too much of a pretty boy to be Frank Castle. That and he simply lacked the attitude. Now, Stevenson could really rock in this role. : )

I agree with you CappyMorgan. First, I
thought Jane too small and not nearly in-
timidating enough. He didn't really have that killer instinct. It was difficult to buy into
him as the Punisher. Stevenson is, indeed, an inspired choice.

nrollins - I just choose to not get hung up on the names and what movies were based on which comic book lines. I also loved the Ennis mini-series with this same title that the first movie WAS heavily based on, but the title could also apply to a sequel to a movie where the character had already been established. Just try not to think about names too much. At one point "Star Trek 2" was going to be called "The Undiscovered Country"...then they rewrote "Star Trek VI" to make the name applicable. Go figure.
