Amazing, Micheal Bay has made something I've been waiting for for a long time a good ol' action movie. This film was well done.

Hello All--

I agree with Director97, this film was actually really enjoyable. There were times I thought I might be watching an early remake of Logan's Run, but the action was good, and the story kept my interest too...

Too bad THE ISLAND is unoriginal and rips iff Logans Run, THX 1138 and steals dialogue from BLADE RUNNER. At least he left the original title MY ATTACK OF THE CLOANS. Wasnt Leatherface going to be in it originally doing the limb removals?

It's funny your all talking about the movie that took #4 spot & probably wont even break even till they release the DVD. I saw the plot for this & was instantly unimpressed with the whole concept. I MIGHT watch it on ON DEMAND if I can't sleep one night and I've seen everthing else and can't find a 24 hour dentist to preform a root canal cause even that sounds preferable to watching "The Island".

The only part that bothers me is I actually agree with Dietvanilla on something. Must be a sign of the apocolypse.

Yes, but isn't Scarlet just yummy to look at (even if she does seem to be in every other movie that comes out.)

Cheers to Burton!

Actually, this movie was good until the final twenty minutes. You could literally get up and leave before it even comes on and you could easily guess how it's going to end. Of course he's gonna get to "expose the truth" to the inhabitants at just the nick of time, while getting into a fistfight with the main villain. Of course one of the bad guys who had been chasing them all along is going to turn good and help him out. Bay once again pulled out his paint-by-numbers filmmaking kit and gave us the ending we've already seen a billion times. Asshole! And killing off Steve Buscemi so early in the movie.... THAT was a mistake, for he truly helped deliver some of the movie's more clever moments.

Ok, I was gonna go see The Island cause I like everyone involved, but I guess I don't have to now. Thanks DragonRift! ASSHOLE

Amen, eduk8tr, I would go see "The Island" just to gawk at Scarlett, in spite of the fact that I've completely had my fill of E-wan McGregor.

Go see The Island. It doesn't matter how it ends, it's the journey there that matters. This film is fun to watch, and brings up multiple intriging ideas about the eventualities of cloning. Scarlet is hot and everyone does a good job acting. Also, great visuals!

DragonRift: if you don't like this type of movie, why go see it? Go see something like Crash.

Logans Run, THX 1138, and Blade Runner all sucked.

dietvanilla: Next time you critique something, stop just throwing around names of random sci-fi movies. They usually make no sense given the discussion. Case in point, read your post about The Island- it reads like something made with Mad Libs.
