November 17, 2003... According to the latest issue of People magazine, Demi Moore wants to take over the CHARLIE'S ANGELS film franchise. After starring as fallen angel Madison Lee in FULL THROTTLE, Moore reportedly is all revved up to make a prequel ANGELS movie featuring her character back when she was still a good girl and in the '80s.
While the rumor doesn't have any quotes to back it up, it's picked up momentum due to the disappointing box office results of the second CHARLIE'S ANGELS film. If the story is accurate, that would mean Columbia Pictures would be kicking Drew Barrymore and her production company, Flower Films, to the curb. Barrymore's company developed the first two ANGELS films. Such a move might do considerable damage to the business relationship between Flower and Columbia, where the remake of BARBARELLA is also in development. [People magazine.]
