Avalon Family Films has signed Katey Sagal, Wallace Shawn, Gilbert Gottfried and Chevy Chase to star in JACK AND THE BEANSTALK.  They join a cast which already includes Christopher Lloyd, Daniel Roebuck and Colin Ford, as Jack. James Earl Jones is in negotiations to voice the role of the Giant.

Sagal will play the concerned mother of Jack. Shawn will play the pawnbroker who sells Jack his magic beans and Gottfried will play a goose that lays golden eggs. Chevy Chase has a cameo as the keeper of a labyrinth Jack must traverse to meet the giant.

Gary DePew is producing. Gary J. Tunnicliffe is directing the live action film. Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus wrote the script.

I've been liked the Jack and the Beanstalk story since I was little, and all the different parodies made since. My favorties will always be the Woody Woodpecker cartoon "Woody the Giant Killer, which is on the Woody Woodpecker DVD, and "Mickey and the Beanstalk", a cartoon shown with some TV versions of Dumbo. Those two are my most favorites.

If Chevy does a dead pan delivery of his part I will watch this.

Is this live action or cartoon? I think Chevy Chase is awesome. Clark W. Griswald just got funnier and funnier in each movie. Does anyone else notice that Ryan Reynolds seems to use a lot of Chevy Chasims? Mostly in his facial expressions. Not that is a bad thing mind you, I think Ryan Reynolds is very funny, but I was just wondering if anyone else has made that comparison.

Gilbert Gottfried still finds work? Why?

Wow, dissing Gilbert. He's funny, and his voice is great for cartoons. That's why he's still working. His standup is awesome.
