I love movies, and I love watching them over again, just for the same reasons I like hearing a song more than once. I think they charge too much, especially for TV stuff, but as far as copy rights go I disagree. I say once you own it you own it forever, and I mean even after your dead your family or whoever should still get the cash. Millions billions, yes rediculous, but that's cause of the price, but someone has to keep making the product and it cost money to do that, sure not as much as originally, but its like an invention. You were creative so you've earned the right to earn the bucks. Sorry thecourage. I think you have made good points and I understand them, but this is just my almost unbiased opinion

thescourge said, "plus TV shows are $75 per season???" Dude where are you paying outlandish prices for TV shows on DVD... go to Amazon.com, Best Buy on Tuesday's and you won't pay that kinda jack. Also, get a set used, they are cleaned up and pretty much good as new. ...wait... are you a trekkie paying the trek rip-off prices for DVD's???

I like to pick up director's versions that add to the film, I agree that most of the "bonus" material is junk. LOTR Hands down is the best example of quality "bonus" material and added material that's not just filler.
