Darabont is riding on top of Godzilla?
Braver man than me.

That’s right folks, the one time show runner of The Walking Dead and director of The Mist is now taking on Godzilla. He is not directing the big green guy’s film, he is only working on the script. Deadline.com had this to report:
"Frank Darabont, who veered into genre territory by launching the AMC series The Walking Dead, has been hired by producer-financier Legendary Pictures to do a final rewrite on the script that was written by The Seventh Son scribe Max Borenstein”
This comes at almost the eleventh hours as production of the film is to being in March. The film will still be directed Gareth Edwards (Monsters) and has a release date for May 16, 2014.
Plot? It is Godzilla. We don't need plot. That's what they tried to do with the last American verison. Put the focus on the humans. Honestly, we just want to see to giant monsters fight.
BTW, what happend to that genre TV show that Darabont was working on? It was going to star the actor who played Shane in TWD.
BTW, I enjoyed Monsters and I enjoy most of Darabont's work (although his Mist was dreadful and his second season of TWD was tedious at times.) However, putting them together sounds like a sloooooooow film. I'd seriously rather see Bay direct this film. Mothra (insert monster) and Godzilla fight destroying lots of buildings in the process. And, add a dash of cheese.
InnerSanctum, of course it will be slow. That mutant dinosaur is pretty damn big and lumbering.
Can this be a good movie. PLEASE don't screw this up again hollywood.
I would prefer to have more Godzilla than humans. But I would like there to still be some human interaction that has to deal with the plot. Also cast GOOD actors. But still have more Godzilla. OH and also make Godzilla look like Godzilla not a blue dinosaur.
deadline is also reporting how the film may now be going to be embroiled in a legal battle. Paramount is suing to remove some of the old producers and they're suing Paramount to halt production.
I just hope it gets made on schedule
