Director Greg Yaitanes began work yesterday to bring CHILDREN OF DUNE to the small screen, with Susan Sarandon, Stephen Berkoff and STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT villainess Alice Krige. Back from the original DUNE is Alec Newman as Paul Atreides and Julie Cox as Princess Irulan.
Like to original (which won two Emmys, for special effects and cinematography) CHILDREN will be shooting in Prague at, well, the Prague Studios. For those of you who might have missed a step in this sequel story, the mini-series CHILDREN OF DUNE combines the second and third books of the Frank Herbert series.
It will hit screens in 2003 on the Sci-Fi Channel.
