Warner Bros. Interactive Software has awarded Global Star Software the rights to make and release video games based upon Tim Burton's upcoming remake of CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. The console games will be developed by High Voltage Software while the handheld and PC games will be developed by Backbone Entertainment.
The videogames are planned to coincide with the release of the Warner Bros. movie. The film is currently scheduled for release on July 15, 2005. There was no mention that any of the film's stars, among then Johnny Depp and 12-year-old British child actor Freddie Highmore, would lend their likenesses or voices to any of the games.
