Doesn't the seconed book take place in Italy?

Summit Entertainment is wasting no time in replacing original Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, who was removed from the sequel New Moon over reported clashes with the studio. Entertainment Weekly reports that director Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass) will be taking over the directors chair for the next installment of their potential franchise.
Weitz is best known for his co-directing efforts with his brother Paul on American Pie and the Oscar-nominated About a Boy before going solo in New Line's "Compass".
While no deal has been officially announced as of yet, the magazine says to expect it on Sunday, December 14th, which would have Chris in Vancouver, B.C. as early as Monday to start pre-production on the sequel.
Does anyone realize how fortuitous it is that New Line landed Chris Weitz? This could have been a disaster. They should have landed him in the first place.
Weitz and new line botched The Golden Compass and the result was the entire New Line offices shut down. So what do they do put him on another book adaptation what is he their bitch??? Just do what ever they say Chris you'll never top yourself again. Not with lame adaptations.
yeah but American Pie had 3 directors (not counting the really, really terrible direct to video releases)
2 was just as good as 1, if not better...3 was decidedly different, because the story was so
I'd say Weitz could do it
and Scriber's right, "Golden Compass" (although visually stunning) did seem a bit lacking
it really was the incredible budget that brought about New Line's "decline"
I'd say that's overconfidence from the success of "Lord of the Rings"
Scriber, however, was wrong about "About a Boy". It is an adaptation of a book by Nick Hornby. Sorry to call you on that, Scribe-ster.
Wait...what? Vancouver?
Now, no offense here to Canada, but "Twilight" was filmed in Oregon, was it not?
Is it really that difficult to go the distance of one damned state to pick up where they left off? Yeah I know all about the lower production rates, discounts, and all that stuff.
But come on...Oregon isn't exactly that far from California. These runaway productions are just silly.
