With the adaptation of Steven Gould's Jumper novel hitting DVD tomorrow, this report is timely. Leading star Hayden Christensen has told the Toronto Sun that he's up for a sequel to the Doug Liman film and there are discussions underway for just that. For those who read the book and watched the movie, there are differences but author Gould is currently writing new novels that go around Liman's newly introduced storyline.

"We're talking about it," the 27-year-old Canadian actor said. "I know that they're having those conversations, I hear about them." So would he sign on again? "Oh yeah, and I think I probably will."

"It was set up to become that -- a trilogy -- if it did well," Christensen added. "And I think they're happy with how it did so they want to make another one. But I don't think they're rushing to get into production."

The original adaptation opened in theaters Feb. 14, 2008 with $27.3 mil. The 85 mil budgeted film would go onward to gross $221.4 mil worldwide,  $79.8 of it domestic and the other $141.5 mil from foreign theaters.

WHY?????????

Of course he is willing to do another one. The realization is setting in that he's no Harrison Ford or Ewan McGregor from his Star Wars fame and his career is fast approaching that of Mark Hammil.

Word yo. He's up for it cause he's got nothing else, lol.

Havent' seen the flick yet, going tomorrow when it gets netflix style.

Good worldwide numbers so I'm sure a sequel should be no prob.

Hanso,

At the end of Jumper, you'll ask yourself what 316 just said.....

Why???

Sure some effects were interesting, but the plot had more holes than my daddy's rubber. Too much was left out regarding the histories of both side.

Sure world box office means money no matter what, but I can't get past greenlighting what amounted to be a semi-ok b flick that didn't really make critics or audiences jump with joy

I agree with everyone here...why? The first one was just a so-so movie at best; popcorn fluff. After seeing Life As A House, I really thought Hayden was going to light up the screen with a great career, but I'm starting to think the director pulled a great performance out of a below average actor. He's been absolutely wooden in everything since. I can't really fault him for the Star Wars fiascos, because he had lousy scripts, lousy direction and I imagine it's hard to get into your craft if everything around you is painted green.

I liked Hayen in this better than Star Wars. Budget's not too nutty and it's interesting fighting techniques. I am there.
