Chuck: Chuck vs. The Masquerade

Another week, another flashy guest star

This week’s episode featured the thematic elements of change, growth, and even a little coming of age. Ellie and Awesome learned they can’t be the couple they once were, Chuck and Morgan realized they need to be adults, at least a little, and even Casey realized he has more to care about than just himself but he also isn’t being utilized to his full potential in his current role. All of this comes packaged in a mission that may have introduced a new villain. This isn’t by far the best we’ve seen of Chuck but it’s a solid episode with some great laughs, especially in the beginning, and some poignant geeky moments too. This is the stuff of John Hughes with even more pop culture reference thrown in. Oh and Chuck even got one excellent flash sequence off a white horse! Good stuff!

I thought the best part of the episode was in the beginning when Chuck and Morgan were making their Valentine's Day arrangements with time tables and bear skin rugs.  LOL.  And Sarah's angel costume.

Was it just me or were the opening kills a little more violent then normal? Later it got back to normal gun shot bad guy fall over. Also isnt it a little late for the Vday episode? Otherwise I enjoyed it. Chuck seems to be the only nonanimated nonsports related thing I watch on tv anymore.

Enough Jeffster for the show not to come to a screeching halt bit still hilarious. The way it was able to change gears from hilariously tearful *Chuck and Morgan leaning up against the wall tearing up over Han & Chewie* to down right serious. A great episode and surprisingly able to stretch out a plot that everyone thought was ended with the arrest of Volkoff.  It seems she's around for a couple more episodes so we'll see what she found behind door number 1, and hopefully we see what's awaiting Casey behind door number 2.  Oh yea Sarah trying to play with the collectibles and the tantric? touching between Morgan and Alex also priceless.
