Chung Finds Love in DRAGON BALL Z

Jamie Chung has joined the cast of the live-action adaptation of DRAGON BALL Z, says the Hollywood Reporter. Chung will be playing Chi Chi, the love interest of lead hero Goku (Justin Chatwin) trying to avoid the sinister plans of Piccolo (James Marsters). James Wong is directing the science fiction action-adventure for 20th Century Fox.

Plot Concept: Centers on an adult humanoid alien named Goku (Chatwin) who, after discovering he was sent to Earth to destroy the population, tries to fulfill the wish of his dying grandfather and collect all seven of the world's mystical Dragon Balls to keep them out of the hands of the evil aliens.

DRAGON BALL Z will hit theaters August 15, 2008.

Since I hate this cartoon as I do most anime my expectations are not that high. In my mind they can only improve on it, especially now that it'll have more of an American flavor.

Seriously? Justin Chatwin and James Marsters? Chatwin is that kid from War of the Worlds and Marsters was Spike on Buffy. I really can't see Chatwin as Goku, though maybe, MAYBE Marsters as Piccolo, if he bulks up. Chatwin though is a horrible choice, I don't see anything of Goku in him.

**disclaimer**, perhaps this photo is just bad (from the neck up) BUUUT The size of her jaw rivals Hellboy and Dick Tracy.
I mean she's got a rockin' bod, and great big FAKE tits, nice rib cage, but to say (from this photo) that her face is hot, no can't do it. I'd still do her, just don't think she's pretty. Show me a better pic.

I see people being able to buy a double DVD of this movie and DoA next Christmas for $10 at Wal-Mart. That said, Jamie Chung is smokin' hot.

Chi Chi could yell at me all she wants, Mmmm Mmmm. If I was Goku, most of my training wouldnt be in a Gravity enhanced ship or with King Kai it'd be at home with Chi Chi. Wink Wink. I'd be Ultimate Saiyan in no time, without ever leaving the House.

I just don't see how they can make Chatwin, Marsters, or any other normal-looking human to look anything like Goku and Piccolo. The visual style of DBZ is so unique I just can't imagine it in real life. I just have a really strong Street Fighter vibe about this one...
