Cinema Of Fear 7inch Series 3

By: Robert T. Trate
Date: Sunday, April 13, 2008

Mezco’s wildly popular Cinema of Fear series continues with their third offering of 7inch figures. Featuring uncannily film accurate likenesses, the award winning Mezco sculptors prove once again they know the world of cinematic horror better than anyone.

The newest wave features four iconic horror figures:

*Freddy from Nightmare On Elm Street 5, with alternate hand, deformed Freddy baby, and film accurate chef hat.

*Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, includes infamous chainsaw, mallet, and maskless alternate head revealing the true face of horror!

*Jason from Friday The 13th Jason Goes to Hell, with machete, dagger, and the beloved miniature Jason demon.

*The Hitchhiker from the classic Texas Chainsaw Massacre. One of the most highly anticipated figures of 2008, this is the first time the hitchhiker has ever been captured in action figure form. Destined to become a fan favorite! He comes complete with his bindle, camera, pocketknife, and razor.

Each stands approximately 7 inches tall.

Jason should have started a side business of indestructible belt buckles and belts. His shirts never get untucked.

SONY, I dont think the belt buckle has much to do with that, his shirts are all very long like to his knees so they dont come untucked.

DJ, why are the popup windows for images like the size of two postage stamps with annoying scroll bars? I cant make the popup window size any bigger as it wont enlarge. Is that some option I fix on this side or is that your site HTML programming? its very annoying that i cant see the entire image, i have to scroll down and over to see parts of it.

i know i know, this is post three. i have to say that Elm Street 5 Dream Child was the LAMEST Freddy flick of them all, this action fgure proves how lame this flick was... that is just a STUPID chefs outfit and Freddy looks like a lame dork.
just my Opinion.

In which film are Jason's shirts that long? And New Nightmare was the worst.

If this was 40 year old virgin Kal would talk more shit about Hitchiker than 6 million dollar man's boss. How do I know you're gay? You're anticipating an action figure.

Thank God, someone finally made a "FILM ACCURATE" chef hat.

Freddy's outfit is silly, but that was from the best scene in the whole movie. Forcing an anorexic girl to eat her own guts? NICE! And New Nightmare and Elm Street 5 were both far from the worst of the series...that title would belong to Freddy's Dead. No continuity with the previous films...cameos by a crazy Tom and Rosanne Arnold, and Alice Cooper as Freddy's father...AND a lame 3-D ending, where the star of the movie actually puts on 3-D glasses in order to enter Freddy's world?!? LOL...the other films were art work!

Yes, I'm a Freddy geek and proud of it.

i forgot about freddy's dead.. i remember seeing that one in Roswell New Mexico at a drive in while on vacation and thinking prior to the movie that the entire movie would be in 3D... was a little dissapointed that 90% of it was not. Like the last 10 minutes were in 3d, it felt so cheap. at least Jason and Jaws gave us two full hours of 3d.

I actually love that scene from Nightmare 5. It's still one of my fav death scenes from all the nightmare movies, just something about it is very disturbing. That and the motorcycle binding with Dan.

This movie when released on VHS back in the day was actually a directors cut, which was the version I had only ever seen. I bought the DVD box set a few years agao now and was so disapointed to find out the Nightmare 5 was only the theater release and cut so much of the gore from movie. They dont even show the aprt where he stabs into here stomach and pulls out chunks. Theres is just randomly a hole there. All the deaths were much more graffic in the directors cut. Sucks. :(

Freddy's Dead at least tried to be different. 4 & 5 were weak at most parts. The 3D needed help but showing Freddy as a kid gave more than the same old Freddy gets killed and Freddy comes back and Freddy gets killed and Freddy comes back. Stairmasters were less predictable.
