Mania Box Office Report: The Kaiju and Jaegar Fall (Article) - 7/15/2013 6:37:34 AM

First off I predict that Pacific Rim II, the overseas numbers and DVD/Blu Ray sales will justify it. The reason why Pacific Rim didn't outperform Sandler's lastest POS is because the concept was too out there for most traditional movie goers. A lot of my friends that are not into sci-fi didn't know if the film was supposed to be a horror film, action film, etc.  When I tried to explain it's a mashupof several generes they didn't get it. Which is sad. Because if people just gave the film a chance they would have been pleased.

I guess people would rather watch Adam Sandler getting whizzed on by a moose than a decent Scifi mashup.

@DarthBob - Also I'm a fan of all comic books Marvel and DC included. Also no need to act like a child with name calling here. We are all fans.

@Rizing - I agree with you I don't know why GL was cancelled as well as Young Justice.

@Darth Bob - MOS hasn't finished it's run yet. So let's wait to add up the numbers.

Also financial numbers alone do not make a film good. If we are going by numbers alone that must mean that the Star Wars Prequels and Matrix sequels must be considered great films because they made a lot of money too right?

Iron Man II came off way too comedic, the plot made very little sense. Also the best parts were the last 20 minutes and the tag at the end.

@ DarthBob - Frist off you are in the minority opinion that MOS was crappy. Second stop making Marvel out tobe the begin all end all. Iron Man II sucked on second viewing and both Thor and Captain American were little more than setups for the Avengers movies not great movies by any means. Marvel hit a home run with Iron Man and the Avengers, they missed with two Hulk movies.

Mania Box Office Report: Ranger Down (Article) - 7/8/2013 12:16:13 PM

I for one an glad because it all but garauntees that Arnie Hammer will not be wearing the Cowl in any Batman or JL movie!!! Yippie Ki YAY!!!!

No Bale for Justice League (Article) - 7/2/2013 11:47:28 AM

Mark my words. If the Lone Ranger is a success this weekend, Arnie Hammer is the next Batman! He was the choice for the scrapped JL movie a few years ago.

First off Rob; if you are going to rate a movie as a "B" man up and say that you enjoyed it and not do this whole "I can't in good conscience call this a good movie" crap.

Second - Stop the Hate on Man of Steel - this is the best Superman movie since Superman II.

Mania Review: Man of Steel (Article) - 6/14/2013 5:18:40 AM

Saw it last night and I think that this is a decent Superman film. I personally think it's bogus to bash the film because it follows the orign story line.  Unlike Batman Begins - in which Nolan was able to take a part of Batman's existence that was never explored on film. Superman's orign has been explored completely. What Snyder/Nolan/Goyer were able to suceed is in the moments where they turned some aspects of the orign story and the Superman Mythos on it's ear.  Also the film is ACTION PACTED!! Again I think this is a decent jumping off point for a new trilogy and I hope it does well enough to get a sequel.

Glenn Close for Guardians of the Galaxy (Article) - 6/2/2013 3:16:55 PM

Yeah well mainia is more concerned with writing Dennis Miller type sarcastic editorials than they are concerned wiith actually reporting news. This site hasn't been good since it changed from Cinescape to Maina.
