CLASH OF THE TITANS remake gets going?

'It' writers of the moment get the task

In an item recounting the triumphs of this week's 'it' writers of the moment, John Glenn and Travis Wright, comes the news the duo, who just finished penning

RED WORLD

for Jerry Bruckheimer, have been tapped by Warner Bros. to write a remake of 1981's CLASH OF THE TITANS.


As Michael Fleming sketched out their take on the project, "they've dropped the cheesy chessboard manipulation of characters by Zeus and other gods that was part of the original pic. It turns all the action toward Zeus' son, the Ancient Greek soldier Perseus as he tries to procure the head of Medusa to defeat an unstoppable tyrant."
As the duo told Fleming, "We had a 16-page take that got us the job, and the studio responded to what will be an adventure film with religious elements."


It seems their plate has been full of remakes lately. They've also just finished a script for MTV's remake of the gang flick THE WARRIORS and another version of JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH for Paramount.
