Fritz Lang's 1927 METROPOLIS, the mother of all genre films, is getting its definitive release on DVD, according to Kino International, the company finally bringing the film to disc.
What the company hopes will make this the version to own (as opposed to all the other versions of the film, with its alternative cuts and soundtracks) is the new, 147-minute cut of the film, as well as a new score by Gottfried Huppertz from a 65 piece orchestra. The cut includes new footage recently discovered.
But before the film hits DVD, it will see a limited release around the country next month. According to Kino, the film will hit disc next year. For more on this, click on the source link above.
