The title device and some of the makers of DreamWorks/Warner Bros. upcoming THE TIME MACHINE will be landing at this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con International convention.
Taking an unconventional approach, DreamWorks has opted to bring THE TIME MACHINE itself right to the people on the convention floor, rather than doing a single presentation from the stage.
Every two hours throughout the four days of the convention, Thursday, July 19 - Sunday, July 22, a huge booth, measuring 50 feet by 60 feet, will feature ongoing presentations about the making of the film from key filmmakers. The booth will also have major set pieces from the film on constant display, including the title device itself. In addition to the scheduled presentations, various members of the film's production team will be on hand at any given time to answer questions about THE TIME MACHINE. Conventioneers will also receive a set of TIME MACHINE trading cards, created especially for Comic-Con International 2001.
On hand for the event will be the film's director, Simon Wells, producers Walter F. Parkes and David Valdes, special effects maestro Stan Winston, Production Designer Oliver Scholl, Visual Effects Supervisor Jamie Price and Three-D Computer Designer Tim Wilcox.
