CLOCKSTOPPERS, which opens nationwide today, had its red carpet premiere just a few days ago and CINESCAPE was there to capture all of the action. The sci-fi adventure film was directed by Jonathan Frakes, best known for his turn as Commander William T. Riker of STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION.
CLOCKSTOPPERS tells the story of Zak Gibbs (Jesse Bradford), your average teenager who discovers an odd wristwatch while going through his father's inventions. Slipping it on, he soon realizes that the device allows him to actually stop time. Joined by his beautiful new friend, Francesca (Paula Garces), the teen sets out a number of fun filled adventures.
The premiere was held at Paramount Studios and the stars of the film (Bradford, Garces, French Stewart, Michael Biehn, Garikayi Mutambirwa, Robin Thomas, director Jonathan Frakes, producer Gale Anne Hurd and executive producer Albie Hecht) were joined by many guests.
Seen strolling down the carpet into the Paramount Theater were Scarlett Pomers (ST:VOYAGER), Brent Spiner (ST: TNG) and his long-time girlfriend Loree McBride (who are expecting in July). In a comedy bit of his own, Spiner could not believe that his name was misspelled on his invite.
"You'd think after all the years that I worked on this lot, they would know how to spell my last name," he laughs. "Spimer who is that!"
Other STAR TREK alums included Michael Dorn, our favorite Klingon Worf (ST:TNG and ST: DEEP SPACE NINE), Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troi ST:TNG), and none other then executive producer Rick Berman, who brought along his wife Elizabeth and daughter Molly.
