Star Wars fans will get an unprecedented look at the newest intergalactic adventure on Thursday, May 8, when the world-premiere trailer for the upcoming CG-animated movie Star Wars fans will get an unprecedented look at the newest intergalactic adventure on Thursday, May 8th, when the world-premiere trailer for the upcoming CG-animated movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars debuts across five Turner networks simultaneously.

At 7:58 p.m. in all U.S. time zones on Thursday, Cartoon Network, TNT, TBS, CNN, and Boomerang will debut an action-packed, two-minute preview of the animated adventure from creator George Lucas and Lucasfilm Animation. It marks the first time a theatrical trailer has received a simultaneous, cross-network airing on Turner Networks. The trailer debuts in theaters on Friday, May 9, along with the first poster for the movie.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars opens in movie theaters August 15th.

"By combining the power of the Turner Networks and the power of the Force, we're able to create a fantastic event for Star Wars fans of all ages," said Howard Roffman, vice president of Lucasfilm Ltd. "We're incredibly proud of The Clone Wars, and eager to be able to showcase it for the first time in such an exciting way."

The newest tale of adventure, intrigue and excitement in a galaxy far, far away combines the legendary storytelling of Lucasfilm and the Star Wars Saga with a signature animation style from Lucasfilm Animation.

On the front lines of an intergalactic struggle between good and evil, fans young and old will join such favorite characters as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala, along with brand-new heroes like Anakin's padawan learner, Ahsoka. Sinister villains -- led by Palpatine, Count Dooku and General Grievous -- are poised to rule the galaxy. Stakes are high, and the fate of the Star Wars universe rests in the hands of the daring Jedi Knights. Their exploits lead to the action-packed battles and astonishing new revelations that fill Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The theatrical release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars tells an all-new story that leads directly in to this fall's premiere of a weekly, animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series on Cartoon Network, followed by airings on TNT.

I know they are aiming this at kids but as a long time SW fan, ever since the first one in 79 I can't understand the look they are going for here...I feel the dread coming on and the fear of another bad story about to be told although I guess it will fall in line with episodes 1 through 3 but does the look of it have to be as sh tty as the story? Peer speculation of course on if the story will be sh t or not but I feel pretty good in my guess if Lucas did any of the writing for it...Enjoy kids, since that seems to be who they are aiming it at without regards to us life long fans who are adults...

Got to agree. This looks like my 5 year old cousin draw the damn thing. I did kind of like the first animated Clone Wars series, but I've never been crazy about the actual animation. I didn't think it could look worse than that series, but I appear to have been mistaken.

Well then a 5 year old designed the whole show, because that's what it looks like.

Anikins Padawan? He never became a master and was still under Obi-wan in Ep 3. So what gives? This is going to suck and not make any sense to continuity of the movies. And were is the LIVE action TV show? Thats what I want screw this animated garbage.

He worked with Obi, but he wasn't a Padawan in Episode III, Filch.
The first clone wars stuff showed his change over and when he started soing missions on his own, but yeah, I'm with you. I'm ready for the live action, but my son will love this.

So when will Lucas and crew move on from the dead horse that is "Clone Wars" and give us some visual insight into the Star Wars universe beyond Ep.6?

Hey Mlaforcer, did you see the original Clone Wars cartoons? Because although it was in the same 'animated' style it was still real good and it fit in with the movies. I'm looking forward to this.

I'm not too excited about this. What I really can't wait for is the Live action series that has been rumored to happen in a few years.

Looks great, can't wait! Now, they need to make VII-IX in all CGI using the voices from the actors from the original saga. But, use the General Thrawn storyline from the books not from Georges somewhat crazy mind.
