Ehhh, maybe if I was nine.

Never did get into Star Wars. But the older fans might like this as an installment of the franchise.

This just doesn't do it for me anymore. If it were X-Wings and Tie-Fighters with the rebellion, I'd probably be more excited. But I just can't get into this "clone wars" thing. I guess I've just moved on or something....

it looks decent enough. Yoda will take a bit of getting used to... he's sort of a cross between the live action movie version vs the Samurai Jack-ish Yoda from the cartoon Clone Wars series...
only one problem... didnt Lucas say that the series WASNT going to feature the Skywalker family or any of the characters from the movie? (perhaps that was the live action TV show?) either way it looks better than Starship Troopers 3d TV show ever did. its just so... so "prequel-ish" if you're not a big fan of the prequels... like Jon41380 said... "Mehh... maybe if I was nine" still holding out hold for the live action TV show but still... so far theCartoon Network cartoons have been very sharp smart adaptations... but even those were based on the PREQUEL movie series... and if you're a fan of episodes 4,5 or 6 you're basically S.O.L.

Love Star Wars (yes, even the new ones)

Well, I hated the TPM for a long time....but now it has grown on me.

As for the show. It looks good. A lot better than I thought it would be. However, I am a little weary. Even with rumors of ANOTHER Star Wars movie (if done....hopefully firected by spielberg?).

Anywho....I just do not want them to oversaturate the franchise again and have them kill Star Wars like they are doing with Star Trek.

McKracken: Lucas said the live action tv show would not feature the skywalkers. The animated show is in the same vein as the other Clone War shows, thus includes the cast from the prequel.

As for the preview, looks good. Well, it looks really good for the space battles and clone vs battle droids. Just a step off the movies. But the character faces will take a while to get used to. I'll tune in, but it's not high on my list.

But then, I'm hardly the target audience. By the time they're released, my son will be old enough to watch them. :)

Yeah, the cartoon series covers the same ground as the previous Clone Wars series (I wonder if there will be some cross-over or contradictions between the two series). The live action covers the years between the end of Episode III and the beginning of Episode IV. Which is funny, the series won't feature any of the main characters, except for the rare guest-spot, but will (if completed) be six times as long as the movie series.

About the only fertile ground in the Rebellion era is between Episode IV and V. Lucas considers Shadows of the Empire to be the definitive story between V and Vi, but there is no such "official" story between IV and V.

On that note, I would love to see a CG movie of "Shadows". I'm sure the principals involved wouldn't mind doing it.

I saw the first Star Wars movie showing in Hollywood on its first day. I saw it just because I'm a science fiction fan without any idea of what I was going to see. I was completely blown away and in subsequent years saw the others among cheering fans. I even played and enjoyed some of the video games based on the movies.
But watching this I have to say I don't get it. The video games make sense because they offer interaction with the Star Wars universe. What is the hook that's going to make people watch this on TV?
Although it's tempting to compare this with new generations of the Star Trek TV series, I don't think it's the same thing at all. Star Trek is the story of man's exploration of the universe and how he overcame obstacles to take his place in a galactic civilization. The story possibilities are endless. Stars Wars is about, well, war, and a specific war at that. There have been successful TV series about a war, MASH comes to mind, but MASH, like all good stories, was about the human condition. Stars Wars TV seems more like a toy ad for children. I hope I’m proven wrong.

I don't see the point here at all. There would be no suspense with this show for the simple fact that we know how it ends.........Why not go forward with a 3D animated version of the New Jedi Order? Having Mark Hamil do voice over for his more famous alter ego as a Jedi master would be far more interesting then this tired concept.

I don't see the point in this either. it looks like a Saturday morining kids show, and there was already a series about The Clone Wars.
