This Monday is Labor Day, the traditional end to the summer movie season, and the dust has settled on the big bout of the season -- SPIDER-MAN vs. STAR WARS EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES. SPIDER-MAN won, but both films broke the $300 million barrier.
Twentieth Century Fox has announced that ATTACK OF THE CLONES crossed the $300 million line this last weekend, putting it in 13th place for the all time domestic box office rankings. While that is great (what kind of person would curse making a $300 million film?), it's $100 million below this summer's champ SPIDER-MAN. The first film for Marvel's mightiest hero has taken in $403 million since it was released in early May.
Now the beans are counted.
