The creative partnership between actor George Clooney and director Steven Soderbergh continues to bear interesting fruit. Today it was announced that Clooney and Soderbergh's Section Eight production company has teamed up with the FX Network to create a mini-series that examines the Bible's ten commandments in today's modern day America. The 10-hour series, simply titled
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, will be broken up into ten one-hour shows. Each episode will be written and directed by different creative personnel, with Clooney and Soderbergh each directing one of the ten shows. They will also act as executive producers on the mini.
As described by
Variety, each episode will center on one of the ten commandments, laws given by God to Moses that were meant to govern humanity. Section Eight's take will be to take one of the commandments, such as "Thou shalt not kill," or "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife," and find a means to examine the moral and spiritual weight of the law as it exists in our society through a fictional character's story.
FX wouldn't reveal a tentative air date for the project.
