Trek Today caught up with ENTERPRISE actor Connor Trinneer and found out some of the changes his character, the ship's engineer, will undergo in the show's third season. One of the new directions is intensifying the relationship between Trip and the ship's science officer, T'Pol.

"She's asked by the doctor to use Vulcan acupuncture to help him sleep," Trinneer told Trek Today's Kristine Huntley at a recent STAR TREK convention. Of all the crewmembers onboard Enterprise, Trip was the one most personally affected by the Xindi attack against the Earth in the show's second season finale. The Enterprise engineer lost his younger sister in the alien attack.

The closer contact with the Vulcan might turn into a more physical relationship. The show's producers have announced they will have T'Pol experiment with experiencing emotions, and on a ship full of humans anything could happen. "It could go anywhere," Trinneer said of the story development. "If I were to predict, we'll get to know each other better."

The season premiere of ENTERPRISE takes place on September 10.
