Michael C. Hall ("Dexter") and Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer") have joined Gerard Butler in a futuristic thriller titled the GAME. The film being produced by Lakeshore Entertainment was written and will be directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the same duo behind the Jason Statham action fest CRANK. The film's story concept has a Running Man feel to it but with an RPG twist i.e the audience enjoying the entertainment will have a hand in controlling the participants.
Plot Concept: The high-concept thriller takes place in the near future, when mind-control technology has taken society by storm. In this dystopian world, the ultimate online simulation environment is humans remote-controlling other humans in mass-scale, multiplayer online gaming. Gerard Butler plays Kable, the No. 1-ranked warrior in the highest-rated game, called "Slayers." With his every move tracked by millions, Kable's ultimate challenge is to regain his identity and bring down the system that has imprisoned him.
