Paramount Home Entertainment's Cloverfield landed in first in both the national DVD sales and rental charts its first week in stores. The film, which topped out just north of $80 million in U.S. theaters, coasted to an easy victory on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, bumping the previous week's top seller, Fox's Juno, to No. 2.

Another new release, Universal's Charlie Wilson's War, debuted at No. 3, followed at No. 4 by Fox's Alvin and the Chipmunks, still a strong seller in its fourth week in release. Also bowing in the First Alert top 10 was Warner's One Missed Call at No. 7.

In rental venues, Cloverfield generated an estimated $7.5 million, according to Home Media Magazine market research. The previous week's top renter, Juno, held strong its second week in stores, earning an additional $6.9 million to snag the No. 2 spot. Charlie Wilson's War debuted at No. 3 on the rental chart with $6.7 million, while One Missed Call bowed at No. 7 with $4.7 million.

Fox's Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem was again the top Blu-ray Disc seller for the week, followed by Juno.
